Mr. Selfish and I arrived in the City of Lights last night. We are staying here for a glorious six weeks. Although our apartment in Montmarte is quite small, we have two balconies and one of them has a wonderful view of the Sacre Coeur. We moved in as the sun was setting…
We unpacked our stuff and immediately started a load of laundry. Unlike in London, we have a dryer here – oh the luxury!
By the time we had unpacked, it was prime eating time on a Saturday night. So we wondered around a while since every restaurant we came upon was packed. We eventually broke down and ate a crepe with nutella.
Eventually, we found our way to a little French restaurant called L’Homme Tranquille. Mr. Selfish and I both had duck confit, which was delicious. As they say, hunger is the best seasoning!
As we walked home, we passed the Sacre Coeur again. We are so lucky to be here.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations for Paris. Mr. Selfish and I are particularly interested in sampling the best croissants, macarons, and hot chocolate. And yes, I have quite a sweet tooth.
