Mr. Selfish and I spent five glorious nights in Bali, Indonesia. We immediately decided that our trip to Bali was too short and that we needed to return later. Not only did Bali seem very untouched by Western culture but the people were the friendliest and nicest we’ve encountered. Plus, the food was amazing, and the prices couldn’t be beat.
We spent three nights in Sanur at the Hyatt Bali. The Hyatt has multiple pools and access to the beach. It was lovely – especially during sunset.
The lobby area was spacious and had wifi. The room, on the other hand, was a little dated but we didn’t spend too much time there.
We spent our remaining three nights in Ubud at the Bebek Tepi Sawah, which is a small hotel set among the rice fields.
The Bebek Tepi Sawah also had two pools and included breakfast. We enjoyed the view of the rice fields (even though we were constantly spraying ourselves with mosquito repellent).
Bali is probably one of our favorite places thus far on this selfish year trip. We’ll consider staying at both of these hotels when we return to Bali.
