During our first day in Sydney, Mr. Selfish and I enjoyed perfect weather and were delighted to see the infamous Opera House. I found the Opera House to be quite lovely and feel that the numerous photos and film footage I’ve seen of it did not it justice. It is something else to see it with your own eyes and experience how the light dances off of the “shells.”
Mr. Selfish and I kept coming back to the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge and enjoying them in different lighting. They were truly magical during sunset.
We were also lucky enough to be in Sydney during “Vivid Sydney,” in which the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, and other various locales are spectacularly lit up at night.
Finally, Mr. Selfish and I enjoyed strolling around the Royal Botanic Gardens, which is situated east of the Opera House and provide magnificent views of it. We saw great plant life from all over Australia, interesting statues, and hoards of white cockatoos flying about.
I highly recommend walking around the Royal Botanic Gardens, especially to Lady Macquarie’s Chair, to enjoy lovely views of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.
I am glad you liked your first day in my city, guys
