Mr. Selfish and I are almost done with our selfish year. We begin our cross-country drive from Richmond, VA to San Francisco in less than a week.
Here’s our itinerary: (1) Richmond, VA, (2) Arlington, VA, (3) Willingboro, NJ, (4) Pittsburgh, PA, (5) Chicago, IL, (6) Sioux Falls, SD, (7) Mount Rushmore, (8) Yellowstone, (9) Salt Lake City, UT, (10), Lake Tahoe, and (11) SF.
We are definitely looking forward to the following:
Do you have any recommendations for us? We would greatly appreciate food recs or pointers on random tourist attractions we should see on the way!
I’ve been to all those places except Salt Lake City. A lot of these places I went to about a decade ago when I was a teenager but I highly recommend visiting as many National Parks as you can. You are going through a bunch of them. Yellowstone was one of the most beautiful place I’ve been to in the US (been to all 50 states), but you might have problems seeing it with the large fire that’s raging over there. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. I’ve been following your blog the past few months and will be sad to see your travels end (though it may make me more productive at work).
My bad, It’s Yosemite that has the fire. Looks like you’re going through there too so just be weary!
We are keeping a close eye on the fires and only booking refundable hotels at this point. We definitely want to explore the national parks as much as possible but it may just be bad timing.
Thanks for reading the blog!
Oh! Lake Tahoe and Yellowstone are gorgeous 🙂
Yes, we can’t wait to visit them!
