When we started traveling 14 months ago, we started this blog as a fun way for friends and family to follow our adventures around the world. 422 posts later, I don’t think either of us expected to still be writing, or to have anyone other than my mom follow the blog.
After a year on the road, we’re finally settling someplace, and even though it’s only for the next few months, it’s a pretty strange feeling. While it’s nice to be back home in the States, the road continues to beckon, and it’s hard not to drop everything and go.
As you may have guessed, we won’t be blogging daily any more, but we will continue blogging. If you want to continue following us, the easiest way is to subscribe to our RSS feed, which is located on the right side of the blog underneath our “Next Location” image.
As others have suggested, we plan on posting about San Francisco as well as our travels on the west coast. We’re already eyeing trips to Portland, Hawaii, Vancouver, Seattle, San Diego, Sedona, Mexico, and the Grand Canyon, to name a few. Plus, there’s our trip to the Maldives and Okinawa in November – I’m already counting down the days!
Thanks again to everyone who followed us on our year long journey around the world. While we’re becoming a little less selfish, our selfish travels are far from over. Hopefully we’ll bump into you out there on a selfish trip of your own!
~ Mr. and Mrs. Selfish
You guys are my hero. I have been dreaming about doing exactly like what you did for years, hopefully I can have the courage to do that soon. =)
I found your blog from MMS as well and had been following your journey around the world. I enjoyed all of your writings and pictures.
I have followed your blog ever since you were featured in MMS. Your blog is definitely my favorite out of all MMS’s Friday interviews. No ads, no reiteration of point-earning techniques– just the sheer joy of traveling and taking in the sights around the world. Thanks for all the beautiful (and sometimes hilarious) pictures. I actually live pretty close to SF and I am there almost every weekend. Maybe I will run into you one of these days (ha, that is, before you get tired of SF and wander around the world again).
Thank you for sharing your experiences. Just want to let you know that Mom is not the only one following. 😛
@katye
Thanks for following! Glad to know someone other than my mom was out there reading. Maybe you’ll run into us if you ever hit the China Town area of SF… or possibly SFO! 🙂
Mr & Mrs. Selfish,
I’ve been following your blog daily since about halfway through your year. I went back and reread everything from the beginning. I love your writing style(s) and vicariously lived through your travel and eating exploits. Even more impressive was your commitment to a daily post! Thank you! Hope I can meet you guys one day in SF or somewhere in the world and buy you a drink as a token of my appreciation.
Best regards,
Max
Thanks Max! We’ll gladly take you up on that drink offer in SF, or anywhere else we might meet.
You can also blog about restaurants, travel hacking or whatever. This does not have to be a strictly travel only blog.
Yes, we plan on continue blogging. But since we are not traveling as extensively, we will not have content to blog daily.
