In my previous post, I went over my obsession with the Golden Gate Bridge, specifically the day that I dragged Mr. Selfish to Crissy Field, Fort Point, and onto the bridge itself. This post will continue with my obsession and go over another day during which I forced Mr. Selfish to view the bridge from the Marin side.
We drove across the Golden Gate Bridge and luckily snagged one of the few parking spots at Battery Spencer. Then, we walked up a little way and wow, the view was amazing.
The view once we reached the top was truly great. It certainly helped that we were there during one of those beautifully sunny days.
Of course, we took some photos of Alcatraz and Angel Island.
After enjoying the view for a bit, Mr. Selfish and I consulted the map and decided to walk a little further. As you can see from the map below, Battery Wagner is a short walk away from Battery Spencer, so we took the trek downhill to it.
I didn’t expect the graffiti at Battery Wagner but I thought it made for a nice contrast with the Golden Gate Bridge.
We continued past Battery Wagner to Kirby Cove, which had the best (and most secluded) view of the Golden Gate Bridge. There were two other people on the entire beach with us. We instantly regretted not bringing a picnic with us.
Needless to say, the view of the Golden Gate Bridge from the Marin side was quite epic. Did you prefer this view or the one from SF?
