The 7th Arrondissement, of course, has the amazing Eiffel Tower. But there is other stuff to do in the 7th as well.

One of the most beautiful sites is Les Invalides. It contains museums and monuments relating to the military history of France and, most significantly, is the burial site of Napoleon Bonaparte. Across the way is the École Militaire, which is a military school at which Napoleon studied.

As many times as I’ve seen it and from assorted angles and different times of the days, I never tire of admiring the Eiffel Tower. This post is dedicated to the Tower.

I love it on sunny days. The United Nations bears in the front are fun. Each country that is recognized by the U.N. has a bear. I posed in front of the Vietnam bear.

The Musées in the 7th Arrondissement

Mr. Selfish and I visited two wonderful musées in the 7th Arrondissement – the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée Rodin.

We purchased combination tickets to the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie (which is in the 1st Arrondissement). In conjunction with our trip to Giverny, these musées completed our Monet tour of Paris. Unfortunately, photographs are not technically allowed in the Musée d’Orsay, so you have to imagine all of the beautiful Monets in there. In any case, the building itself was gorgeous since it used to be a train station – Gare D’Orsay. Mr. Selfish and I thoroughly enjoyed the Musée d’Orsay – not only because the building itself was elaborate but because the impressionism art collection was quite extensive.
